Structure Fire

New City - About 50 firefighters from New City and Congers are currently battling a fire at a home in New City. 


The fire began this afternoon at a two-story ranch style house at 1 Boecher Court. It was characterized at its height by thick, heavy gray smoke. Flames shot out of the roof and the side of the house near its peak. 



UPDATE: Firefighters are checking the roof and attics to seek any lingering areas of fire after a blaze that burned through the roof of a New City home.
