The Spring Valley PD, Spring
Valley FD, Spring Hill EMS, and RPS, were dispatched to
22 Prospect Street in Spring Valley for reports of a structure fire
with possible people trapped, Sunday afternoon. Upon their arrival,
they found the fire to be in a small bungalow behind the home. The
fire destroyed the bungalow with a garage that was converted into an apartment.
The cause of the fire is under
investigation by the Rockland County Sheriff’s Arson Squad, but officials do
not believe the cause to be suspicious.
With the density of the
community and the close proximity of the houses, firefighters said the blaze
could have been a lot worse.
On firefighter suffered a minor
injury, but was treated on the scene and was not transported to the hospital
