One firefighter suffered a laceration to the hand while battling a fire that destroyed a two-story home at 78 Sharp St. this afternoon. The firefighter, whose identity was not available, was taken to Nyack Hospital.
The fire was brouhgt under control in less then an hour. No other injuries were reported.

1309: Haverstraw FD dispatched for a reported structure fire at 78 Sharp Street. Haverstraw PD on scene reports a working fire.
1311: 4-4 on scene establishing Command advising a Signal 12.
1316: 4-Command requesting West Haverstraw FD with a pumper & manpower to the scene.
23-2 responding.
1317: Haverstraw PD reports a live wire down, requesting additional PD units to the scene.
1322: 23-2000 responding, are to enter scene via West Lincoln.
1324: 4-Command requesting Thiells FD with a F.A.S.T. team to the scene.
26-3 responding.
1326: Heavy fire showing on the north side of the house as per UHF Fire Ground-2. 4-99 crew opening a 2nd vent hole in the roof.
1330: 4-Command requesting Congers FD with a pumper & manpower to cover Haverstraw.
1331: Operations switched to Ch.3
26-Rescue responding.
1334: 3-1, 3-1500 responding.
1342: Still heavy fire showing out the vent hole as per UHF Fire Ground-2. Removing the 4-99 crew from the roof.
