Bomb Threat Under Investigation In Kiryas Joel

Kiryas Joel - State Police and a hazmat team investigated a bomb threat that was phoned in to a residence in the Village of Kiryas Joel early Monday afternoon. The call was apparently a hoax.

The phone call to a residence on Satmar Drive brought out State Police and local firefighters along with a police K-9 and hazmat personnel.

The house that received the threatening call was evacuated as the bomb sniffing dog was brought in. Nothing suspicious was found and the incident was declared over around 1 p.m.
