Crown Heights - A boy was hit by a speeding minivan in front of Yeshiva Chovevei Torah Monday afternoon, he was thrown over thirty feet and sustained serious injuries.

Yeshiva administration notified CrownHeights.info that B"H the boy is stable and doing ok.

The incident occurred as boys were leaving the Yeshiva at 885 Eastern Parkway, between Troy and Albany Avenues, for their lunch break. The boys attempted to cross the narrow service road when a minivan struck him, throwing him over thirty feet away.

Multiple eyewitnesses stated that the minivan was traveling at a high rate of speed, and damage to the vehicles fender and windshield seems to support the eyewitness accounts.

Hatzalah was called and arrived and immediately followed by FDNY and the police, the victim was placed on a stretcher then rushed off to Kings County Hospital. The victim was initially reported as being unconscious, but when transported he appeared to have regained consciousness.
