This camp was used as a homeless shelter for men from the NYC area. The property consists of many large abandoned buildings.
The Chester Fire Dept. had the first call. Units from the Monroe Fire Dept also responded.
The access to fire was limited along with water,so a tanker operation was established at the scene. A portable water tank was used to provide a water source to put out the fire.
Aerial units were standing by on the main road in case they were needed.
The incident is under investigation by the Orange County Sheriffs Department.
