Bushwick- Crews battled a four-alarm fire at a building in Bushwick today that injured three people, one of them seriously.
Emergency crews say the call came in at around 1:20 p.m. reporting smoke coming from the basement of 17 Menahan St. The fire then spread to the first floor of the four-story building.
Smoke engulfed the area as more than 41 units responded to the blaze.
One person was seriously hurt, and two firefighters suffered minor injuries. All three were taken to Wyckoff Heights Medical Center.
Neighbors say a Christian nonprofit group called Metro World Child occupied the space.
Fire officials say they have been unable to determine the cause of the flames
