Bronx Fire Destroys Warehouse

Bronx. Firefighters battled a massive fire at a warehouse located on Bruckner Boulevard at East 140 Street in the Mott Haven section of the Bronx on Monday evening.


The fire, which grew to three alarms in the late afternoon, started just before 2 p.m. Units were withdrawn from the building shortly after arriving, and only exterior operations were conducted,

 The fire was brought under control late Monday night, officials said.

The smoke was so bad in the area, all lanes of the Bruckner Expressway were closed in both directions at 138th Street. and there was no 6 train services between 3ave-138st till Hunts Point Ave in both directions, but have since been reopened.

No injuries were immediately reported. In all, 140 firefighters from 33 units responded.
